Country Overview

Canada is the second largest country in the world, filled with mountains, lakes, grasslands, and forests, and stretches from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean and up to the Arctic. It is an incredibly diverse country that embraces multi-culturism and immigration. Our two sites in Canada are in the two largest cities in the country, Vancouver and Toronto. Those cities also boast the highest immigrant populations in the country with both our sites serving children from all over the world.

Our Ministry in the Canada

Our two Canadian sites were launched in 1997 in Toronto and Vancouver. Both sites are situated in incredibly diverse neighborhoods with huge immigrant populations. Each site offers multiple AfterSchool Programs, Summer Camps, teen job training programs, and internship opportunities.

Canada: UrbanPromise Vancouver

UrbanPromise Vancouver seeks to build communities through the nurturing and developing of children, teenagers, and young adults through programs in under-resourced neighborhoods in the Greater Vancouver area.

UP Vancouver launched in 1997 in order to minister to the at-risk children on the East Side. What began as a small neighborhood outreach has flourished into a comprehensive youth-serving organization, ministering to  100 children through  AfterSchool Programs  and 300 children at our Summer Camps, and offering StreetLeader training and internship opportunities.

Canada: Toronto

Founded in 1998, UrbanPromise Toronto exists to proclaim the love of Jesus, and to express it through the spiritual, social and educational development of children, youth, and families living in Toronto Community Housing (TCH). 

TCH is the largest provider of social housing in Canada and is home to seniors, families, singles, refugees, recent immigrants to Canada and people with special needs.  We are priviledged to serve these communities by offering AfterSchool Programs, Summer Camps, a StreetLeader program, leadership development, and experiential learning.
