RiseMalawi Ministries was established in 2008 in the Dowa region, a rural area that borders the capital city. Our goal is to equip children with the skills necessary for social development, economic independence, spiritual growth, physical well-being, and academic achievement.
RiseMalawi is the only youth-serving agency currently operating in the Dowa District. The problems facing the children in this rural community are not unlike those found in other parts of Malawi: food shortages, lack of educational opportunities, and the effects of HIV/Aids pandemic. Many of these children lack food, shelter, adequate clothing, moral support, and access to quality education. In order to assist public institutions and other community stakeholders to address these needs, RiseMalawi provides holistic support to these children and youth, equipping them with skills necessary to become healthy and productive members of society.
RiseMalawi comprises a high school, an AfterSchool Program, a feeding program for all participants, HIV/Aids awareness initiatives, and a girls’ empowerment program.
